Dominion Petroleum rose another 2p to 12¼p amid misplaced talk that it had struck oil nearer the surface than expected at its first well in Tanzania. It is understood that the company is still two weeks away from hitting target depth and has not yet struck hydrocarbon. It is seeking ways to raise between $30 million (£20.7 million) and $50 million to meet its drilling programme commitment.
