LONDON (Dow Jones)--Tullow Oil PLC (TLW.LN) has put together a shortlist of eight prospective partners to join its development of oil resources discovered in the Lake Albert region of Uganda, a person familiar with the matter told Dow Jones Newswires Friday.
Italian oil company Eni SpA (E), which was in Uganda last week for talks with the government, is on the list, the person said. Major Chinese, Indian and Western oil companies are also on the list, the person added.
Tullow would like to have a potential partner, with experience of building major pipelines and refineries, at the table for serious discussions by the end of the year, the person said.
